"At Northwestern Mutual, we believe that cultivating a diverse workforce makes us a better company for everyone, from our clients to our employees," said Raymone Jackson, director of diversity and inclusion, Northwestern Mutual. "We are excited to sponsor these two conferences that help us provide even more opportunities to women and African Americans."

Both conferences serve as a platform to connect with top talent and empower attendees with tools and resources to grow professionally. Northwestern Mutual and other companies have the opportunity to engage with top females in the technology space at Grace Hopper as well as recruit attendees from the NBMBAA Conference.

NBMBAA:

The National Black MBA Association is committed to promoting education and economic empowerment of African Americans. Kicking off today, this year the conference returns to Detroit, a city that is symbolic of the work that the organization has done in the African American professional community. A longtime partner of the NBMBAA, Northwestern Mutual also sponsors the organization's local chapters throughout the country. Full agenda:

Northwestern Mutual's participation in the conference will include key activities such as an Open Source Code-A-Thon for Humanity offering attendees the opportunity to collaborate on projects in order to create change and a Senior Women's Program (SWP) designed to reignite the passion and address the varied needs of experienced women technologists.

Northwestern Mutual is also providing funding for several students to attend the conference through GHC Scholars. The scholarships are those in fields such as computer science, computer engineering or a related discipline such as electrical engineering and physics.
