Northwestern Mutual extends its support to families and businesses affected by the wildfires in New Mexico.  Northwestern Mutual and Northwestern Long Term Care are reinstating any DI and LTC policies with payers in San Miguel, Valencia, Colfax, Lincoln, Mora and Sandoval counties which lapsed due to non-payment of premium since 4/22/22.  In addition, we will suppress lapse notices and prevent lapse of DI and LTC policies with payers in these counties due to non-payment of premium through 8/20/22, as required by New Mexico’s Department of Insurance.  If an insured impacted by the wildfires requests a copy of his or her insurance policy (e.g., due to loss), a copy shall be provided at no cost to the insured.

For Policyowners residing in Sierra County:

The New Mexico Department of Insurance has prospectively added Sierra County as being impacted by the wildfires in New Mexico.  Northwestern Mutual and Northwestern Long Term Care are reinstating any DI and LTC policies with payers in Sierra County which lapsed due to non-payment of premium since 6/10/22.  In addition, we will suppress lapse notices and prevent lapse of DI and LTC policies with payers in this county due to non-payment of premium through 10/31/22, as required by New Mexico’s Department of Insurance. If an insured impacted by the wildfires requests a copy of his or her insurance policy (e.g., due to loss), a copy shall be provided at no cost to the insured.
