Northwestern Mutual Foundation Donates $50,000 to Easter Seals New Hampshire to Honor Top Volunteers

The Northwestern Mutual Foundation awarded The Northern New England Financial Group of Manchester, NH, with the 2011 Community Impact Award for its work with Easter Seals of New Hampshire, an organization dedicated to providing exceptional services families and individuals with special needs throughout New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. To recognize the ongoing efforts of Managing Partner Scott Christensen and his team, the Northwestern Mutual Foundation is awarding a $50,000 grant to Easter Seals to further support the organization’s work in the community.

 
 
The Northern New England Financial Group of Northwestern Mutual has been active with Easter Seals for nearly two decades, when former Managing Partner Dick Rawlings arrived in Manchester. Over the years, the offices throughout New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine have partnered with Easter Seals on a number of events, including the Veterans Golf Tournament, the Annual Celebration of Giving event, and the Walk With Me walk.
 
Local team members have also helped staff Easter Seals’ VIP Campaign, a major fundraiser for the organization. In total, the local Northwestern Mutual office helped contribute more than $45,000 to Easter Seals New Hampshire, and in 2010 commemorated Dick Rawlings’ chairmanship with a special gift of $17,500 to benefit five events.
 
“Around the country, nonprofit organizations are hungry for outstanding volunteers like those at the Northern New England Financial Group,” said Kimberley Goode, president of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation. “Their passion to help others reach their full potential and commitment to strengthening the community is making a difference now and for future generations.”
 
John E. Schlifske, chairman and CEO of Northwestern Mutual, presented the award to the local Northwestern Mutual office at Northwestern Mutual’s 2011 Eastern Regional Meeting, held in New York City on January 6, 2011.
